Our New Vicar

The Revd Andrew Edmunds, Operations Director of the charity Valley Cids, has been appointed Vicar of Yateley in the Odiham Deanery.  He will be Collated by the Bishop of Basingstoke at St Peter’s Yateley at 7.30pm on Thursday 14th July 2011.

Please pray for Andy and his family as they prepare to move to Yateley and that all the necessary arrangements are made smoothly.

From Andy:

Sunday, 17th April 2011.

I am absolutely delighted to have been invited by the Bishop of Winchester to be the Vicar at St. Peter’s, Yateley.  From the first time that Ann and I drove through the parish, we hoped that this was where God was calling us.  Now having met key leaders in the parish, we can’t wait to come and join you.

Over the years, I have been a teacher, a social worker, and then, since ordination in 1989, I have served in the parish of Hawkwell, Essex; Wellswood (Torquay), Devon; and Ripley, Derbyshire.  For the last two years I have been the Operations Director of a children’s charity that I worked with others to set up in 2000.  Those who have known me over this time and have seen your church profile have all said that St. Peter’s Yateley is exactly the right place for me now.  I hope you will agree(!).

Over the coming weeks, Ann and I look forward to meeting more people and getting to know the church better.  You will also get to meet our son David (22yrs) who will be moving into the vicarage with us, and our daughter Rebecca (24 years) who lives in Peterborough.

For now though we pray that God will bless us all, as we prepare for a new chapter in this adventure of faith.

Andy Edmunds
